Regina police are hoping to track down the victim of a would-be thief to make sure she’s OK.
On Friday, the Regina Police Service (RPS) was called after a robbery was reported at 12th Avenue and Osler Street, near the downtown.
According to a media release, an elderly woman was approached by a man who tried to grab her bag. Police say he didn’t manage to get it away from her, but the woman left the scene before police arrived. A suspect was located and arrested, but police say they want to find the woman to make sure she wasn’t hurt and to get her statement.
The victim is described in the release as an elderly woman. She was carrying what was described as a reusable bag with a floral pattern. Anyone who may be able to help track her down is asked to call the RPS at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The suspect is facing charges of robbery, failure to comply with a probation order, and failure to comply with a release order.
