Eight more people who tested positive for COVID-19 in Saskatchewan have died.
The Regina region had three deaths and Saskatoon area had two, with two people in the 70-to-79 age range in Regina, one in Saskatoon, and another person in the 80+ age group for both areas. The north-central zone saw two deaths with one person in the 50-to-59 age range and one person in the 60-to-69 range. The south-central area had one new death, it was a person in the 80+ age group.
There are 252 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the province, bringing the active case total to 3,762 cases.
The new cases announced Friday were in the northwest (41), Saskatoon (57), Regina (29), far northeast (17), north-central (42), northeast (12), far northwest (nine), south-central (four), central-west (five), southeast (four), central-east (24), southwest (two) and far north-central (three) areas.
Eight previously reported cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the far northeast (one), northwest (one), north-central (three) and Saskatoon (three) zones.
Three new cases are pending a location.
There were 218 recoveries announced on Saturday, bringing the provincial total to 9,452 recoveries.
There are currently 127 people with COVID in hospitals throughout the province.
20 of those cases in intensive care in the Saskatoon (10), north-central (four), Regina (four) and southwest (one) zones. The other 107 people in hospital are in the Saskatoon (41), Regina (23), north-central (20), northwest (seven), southeast (six), far northwest (two), central-east (three), northeast (three) and central-west (one) zones.
The seven-day average of daily new cases is 227 (18.7 new cases per 100,000 population).
On Friday, 3,328 COVID-19 tests were processed in the province.
