The Regina Police Service has issued a $2,800 fine to a 52-year-old man for a violation of the public health orders regarding COVID-19.
In a media release Thursday, police said at about 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were sent to the downtown area to find a man who had refused to self-isolate after a positive COVID test. The man had left his home after the diagnosis.
Officers found the man in the area of 13th Avenue and Albert Street, gave him a $2,800 ticket and took him back to his place of residence.
It was the ninth ticket handed out by the Regina Police Service since March for a violation of COVID-related public health orders.
