Two Calgary men are facing a lengthy list of charges after a drug bust by the Regina Police Service on Friday.
In a media release Monday, police said officers from the drug unit executed seven search warrants — three on vehicles and four on locations in the downtown, Central Park and Harbour Landing areas of the city.
A 48-year-old man and a 35-year-old man were arrested after police found 750 grams of fentanyl, 7.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 140 grams of cocaine, $56,000 in Canadian currency, a loaded .41-calibre revolver, ammunition, and multiple scales, cellphones, packaging and other items associated with drug trafficking.
Both men were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
The 48-year-old also was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and one count each of careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime, and breach of a probation order.
The men made their first court appearances in Regina Provincial Court on Monday.
