Two men are facing charges — including one each of second-degree murder — in connection with Regina’s first murder of 2021.
Four people now have been charged in the case; two people were in court Tuesday on charges of being accessories after the fact to murder.
Bobby Edward Dawson Gray, 20, and 22-year-old Peyton Anthony Stevenson, both of Regina, are charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Both men made their first court appearances Wednesday.
They’re charged in the killing of 38-year-old Amber Dawn Wood, who was shot Saturday in a house in the 700 block of Athol Street. Paramedics who arrived at the scene took Wood to hospital, where she died a short time later.
According to a police media release, officers on Monday night surrounded a house in the 1200 block of Wascana Street where they believed the two suspects were.
The men came out of the house and one was arrested without incident. The other tried to run, but was caught by a canine team and suffered what police called “relatively minor injuries from the dog bite.”
Both men subsequently were charged in connection with Wood’s death.
