There won’t be any interschool high school sports competitions in Regina until after the Easter break at the earliest.
In a release from the Regina High Schools Athletic Association, the city’s school divisions said the winter sports season would not proceed.
Due to the high numbers of COVID-19 cases in Regina and the surrounding area, no changes have been made to current public health orders and restrictions on sports.
In the release, the school divisions indicate they were told by the province’s Business Response Team that no competitions will take place in the province until late March.
School divisions intend to meet in March to consider spring sports, in-school training options and small cohort competitions between schools.
The RHSAA represents the Regina Catholic School Division, Regina Public Schools, Luther College High School, Huda School, Ecole Laval, Regina Christian School and Harvest City Christian Academy.
