Six cases of COVID-19 have been linked to a Saskatoon bar and the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is worried about further spread.
The SHA declared an outbreak on Tuesday at the Feisty Goat Bar and Grill on Diefenbaker Drive.
It says at least one person was there while infectious on Jan. 23.
Any person who attended the business on that date should immediately self-isolate and call HealthLine 811 if they develop symptoms.
Exposure risk in St. Louis
The SHA is also alerting the public about an increased COVID-19 exposure risk in the St. Louis area.
According to a media release, because of some cases related to events in St. Louis, which resulted in the spread to same household members, there is an increased risk of the virus.
The increased risk of exposure is for those who may have attended any outdoor recreational events, poker rallies and poker card parties outside of their home since Christmas.
The exposure risk led the community’s public school to move to Level 4 in the Saskatchewan Safe Schools Plan.
The Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division said from Thursday until Feb. 12. all students in pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 will move to remote learning. Students will return to in-person learning after the school break on Feb. 22.
The SHA asks anyone who attended the listed events to immediately self-isolate and call HealthLine 811. They also recommend those who are not experiencing symptoms to get tested.
