While the cold can be hard to deal with, some people are putting up with it for the sake of their canine companions.
No matter what the weather, dogs will still want to get out and exercise.
980 CJME spoke with dog owners in Regina, where the wind chill was hovering at about -30 C.
Vicky Schoch said her pup, Stella, is always eager to get out and play, even when the mercury drops.
“She doesn’t care what it’s like outside. If it’s going to be -40 C, we’re going to be out here,” she said with a laugh.
Dan Rashovich feels the same way. He tries to stay optimistic about the cold.
“You have to make him happy,” he said of his pooch.
“It’s only bad one way… into the wind. Half is good, half is a little tougher. That’s it,” Rashovich said.
Glenda Jeffries would much rather be inside, but is willing to make the sacrifice.
“Even in this weather, it doesn’t deter my dog at all. As long as they keep moving, they’re good … I’d rather be inside, but it’s a must, so what can I say?” she said.
JR Guarin, on the other hand, actually enjoys it almost as much as his dog.
“I love to be outside, all the time. Rather than being inside, getting out and getting some fresh air, it’s good,” he said with a laugh.
