10:00 – Bill C-7, which expands access to medically-assisted dying to those who are suffering but not approaching the end of their natural lives, is before the House of Commons this week before heading back to the Senate for a final vote. Saskatchewan Senator Denise Batters is raising objections to the bill, saying expanding access to assisted suicide to people suffering with mental illness would have dire consequences and places Canadians at risk of death when they still have hopes of a full recovery. Batters joins Gormley to discuss the bill and why she objects to the amendment.
