Charges have been dropped against one of the men initially charged in the killing of Justin Delorme.
In a media release Monday, the Regina Police Service said that, after further investigation, a stay of proceedings had been issued for charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder against Jordon Ivan Cyr.
Cyr had been arrested Feb. 23. The stay was issued Friday and he was released from custody.
That same day, though, another Regina man was charged in connection with Delorme’s death.
Delaney Randell Albert, 35, is facing charges of second-degree murder and attempt to commit murder using a firearm. He made his first court appearance Monday.
Two other men — 54-year-old Charles Wayne Taypotat and 35-year-old Richard Crane — also are charged in Delorme’s killing.
The 32-year-old Regina man was found hurt in a house on Garnet Street on Feb. 21. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It was Regina’s third murder of 2021.
