A 23-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a young boy in Canora.
On Nov. 21, police arrived at a house in town after hearing about a child needing urgent medical attention.
Despite efforts to revive him, the child died at the scene.
The child was identified as Lorenzo Cote, who was 21 months old.
Waylon Hilliard Severight of the Cote First Nation was arrested and charged on Friday by members of the Yorkton RCMP Provincial General Investigation Section and RCMP Major Crimes Unit South.
According to the Mounties, Severight knew Cote.
Severight appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday morning and will appear again on April 8.
