Three Regina elementary schools each have temporarily closed a classroom and a bus route after cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.
The Regina Catholic School Division says one case was identified at each school — Ecole St. Elizabeth, St. Gabriel School and St. Theresa School — by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
All three schools were open Wednesday, but the individuals’ classrooms and the buses they ride were closed. Their classmates are to learn remotely for the duration of the self-isolation period.
The case at St. Theresa is the fourth reported by the division in the past two days.
“It is important to know that there is still no transmission within the school, and these cases have come from the community,” the division said in a media release.
A case of COVID also was reported at Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School.
All impacted classrooms were closed, with students in those classes to return to school March 26. The rest of the school was open Wednesday.
Regina Public Schools also reported a case at Marion McVeety School, where remote learning is to begin for affected students.
