One dead, five hurt after two-vehicle crash near Montmartre

A man from the Glenavon area is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday north of Montmartre.

According to the Indian Head RCMP, officers responded at about 11:30 a.m., to a call of a collision on grid road 606. A truck travelling south on that road and a truck heading west on another grid had collided.

Five people in the first truck — an adult and four children, all from the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation area — were taken to hospital. One of them was transported by STARS helicopter.

The man driving the other truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
