The Regina Catholic School Division is reporting two more cases of COVID-19 at St. Theresa School — the sixth and seventh cases at the Glencairn facility in a little over a week.
“In an abundance of caution, we have closed the impacted classrooms and associated bus,” the division said in a media release.
The school was open Tuesday, but some students have moved to remote learning.
The Catholic division also reported two positive cases at St. Peter School, while Regina Public Schools announced there were one positive case at each of Ecole Wascana Plains School, Wilfred Hunt School, L.M. Hanna School, Balfour Collegiate and the Allan Blakeney Adult Campus.
All of those schools were open Tuesday.
The Catholic division and public school board already have decided to shift to online learning due to the recent increase in COVID cases and cases of variants of concern in the Regina region.
Students in public high schools are to start learning from home Wednesday. Students from pre-kindergarten to Grade 8 are to make the shift next Monday.
Students at Catholic elementary schools are learning at school this week, while the division’s high school students will stay on their current hybrid learning schedules through Friday.
From next Monday to April 1, students at all of the division’s schools will learn from home while staff members work in schools.
The divisions’ Easter breaks run from April 2-9. On April 12, both divisions expect to return to in-person learning.
