NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says he expects full stadiums for the 2021 season.
The reaction was varied, including from excited fans thinking the vaccination rollout in the United States is going well enough that Goodell will be proven right.
There are those who would love it — if fans can prove they’ve been vaccinated.
Some say he’s overly optimistic.
And then some are saying the only winner coming from full stadiums in 2021 will be COVID-19.
Now, the season starts in September. There are five months between now and then and the U.S. already has nearly 17 per cent fully vaccinated.
Those up in arms about Goodell should read about Texas this week. We are expecting to see a full stadium for the Texas Rangers, who are opening up their new home to full capacity for their three-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays.
I wouldn’t be first in line for a ticket to those games and I’m not sure how many would be. However in September, when we’re all supposed to be shot up, I think Goodell will get his wish.
