Regina’s intensive care unit has a record number of patients with COVID-19 as more than 200 people in the province are now hospitalized fighting the virus.
There are 202 people in Saskatchewan hospitals, including 44 in intensive care.
There are 30 ICU cases in Regina, with eight in Saskatoon, four in the north-central region and two each in the south-central and central-east zones.
New cases
The ministry also reported 217 new COVID-19 cases, 221 recoveries and three deaths.
One death was reported in the north-central zone from the 60-to-69 age group. Two deaths were reported in the Regina zone from the 70-to-79 and 80-and-over age groups. To date, 443 Saskatchewan residents have died due to COVID.
The government also said there were 224 new cases of variants of concern in the province, increasing the total to date to 2,677.
