The City of Regina’s golf courses are about to get into the swing of things.
The city announced Wednesday it plans to open the Tor Hill Golf Course on Friday, the Murray and Joanne Goulet courses on April 16, and the Lakeview Par 3 on April 23.
Those openings are dependent on the weather.
“Courses normally open in May, but with the warmer weather and below-average spring runoff, crews have been working to prepare the courses for more outdoor recreation options for Regina residents,” the city said in a media release.
Tee times on the city-owned courses can be booked up to five days in advance starting at 7 p.m. No walk-ons are permitted.
The city said the required COVID-19 safety measures and cleaning protocols are in place as set out by the Saskatchewan government. Those guidelines can be seen here.
Other courses around the city also are preparing for the 2021 season.
The driving range at the Wascana Golf and Country Club has been open for more than a week, and the course is to slated to open Friday.
The Royal Regina Golf Club is to open its driving range to members on Friday, with tentative plans to open the course on April 15.
The range at Flowing Springs Golf Greens has been operating since last week. There currently isn’t a targeted date to open the course.
Tennis and pickleball courts
The city also announced Wednesday it would be opening tennis and pickleball courts around the city on Thursday. All courts should be opened by April 23, weather permitting.
