Eligibility at the drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Regina’s Evraz Place is heading under 50 for the first time.
On Monday evening, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the clinic would be open to anyone between the ages of 49 and 54 on Tuesday.
The clinic, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis, is to be open from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
It started operating Friday accepting patients who were 53 or 54 only before dropping the eligibility to 52 on Saturday. The age fell to 51 on Sunday and 50 on Monday.
People 55 and over can book vaccination appointments online or via telephone.
The drive-through clinic started administering the Pfizer vaccine Friday. It previously was exclusively using the AstraZeneca vaccine, but switched to Pfizer to get more doses into younger age groups.
AstraZeneca currently isn’t being given to anyone under the age of 55 due to blood clotting concerns.
“The SHA will open up the drive-through to additional age groups based on demand through assessment of lineups and vaccine delivered,” the authority said in a release.
Access to the drive-through is available only from the Lewvan Drive and 11th Avenue entrance, from the northbound lanes on Lewvan only.
