Recreation facilities and community centres in Regina will reopen on Monday after being closed in late March because of the spread of COVID-19 variants in the city.
The City of Regina consulted provincial health authorities in making the decision to reopen the facilities. The current provincial public health order is set to expire on Monday.
Pre-registration will be required for those wishing to participate in activities at the facilities and centres. The city says this is to maximize how many can participate and minimize lineups outside. It also allows for additional cleaning.
Registration opens on Friday at 9 a.m. and can be done online and over the phone ( 306-777-7529).
In addition to registering, people are asked to:
- Wear a mask
- Answer the health-related questions posted on the door
- Sanitize their hands
- Arrive dressed and prepared five minutes before start time
- Not linger after the activity
- Pay with a debit or credit card
- Maintain physical distancing at all times
