Severe thunderstorm warnings and watches as well as special weather statements remained in place across Saskatchewan on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 5:15 p.m., Environment Canada said it was tracking “a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing very strong wind gusts, up to nickel-sized hail and heavy rain. This line stretches from Wilcox to Kelvington and is moving northeast at 30 km/h.”
Meanwhile, areas around Regina were under a severe thunderstorm watch, which warned of strong wind gusts and large hail.
Environment Canada said the front producing those storms would move into Manitoba overnight.
Up north, snowfall, winter storm and freezing rain warnings remained in place. Environment Canada says as much as 40 centimetres of snow could fall Tuesday and Wednesday.
As well, an air quality advisory was issued for the Prince Albert region due to the wildfire burning near that city.
