The Saskatchewan Health Authority is warning of an increased risk of exposure to a COVID-19 variant of concern at the Saskatoon airport last weekend.
In a media release Thursday evening, the SHA said anyone who went through screening at the airport last Friday or Saturday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., or Sunday from 5 a.m. to 9:20 a.m., should self-monitor for COVID symptoms for 10 days from the date of possible exposure.
The release said someone who was infectious was in that area of the airport at that time.
Anyone who develops symptoms should seek COVID testing immediately by calling HealthLine 811, their physician or their nurse practitioner. Symptoms can present anywhere from two to 14 days after exposure.
The signs of COVID include fever, cough, headache, muscle and/or joint pain, sore throat, chills, runny nose, nasal congestion, dizziness, fatigue, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, loss of sense of taste or smell, and difficulty breathing.
