The alleged driver of a vehicle speeding, going through red lights and heading into oncoming traffic in Regina was arrested after police found him trying to hide in a yard with a gun on Angus Street on Thursday morning.
A man was seen with a firearm leaving in a vehicle in the 500 block of North Cityview Crescent. Police were called and dispatched to the area.
When officers found the vehicle, it was being driven dangerously so a spike belt was used.
The vehicle was abandoned in an alley on the 1300 block of Angus Street and a man was found in a yard in the same area. He was taken into custody without incident and a firearm was recovered.
Thirty-one-year-old Frederick James Norman Brass has been charged with dangerous driving, possessing an unauthorized firearm, possessing a prohibited firearm and ammunition, possessing a loaded or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a vehicle and careless storage of a firearm.
He made a first court appearance Friday morning.
