Regina readers, rejoice — the Regina Public Library is to reopen its branches next week.
The Central Library and the Albert, George Bothwell, Prince of Wales, Regent Place, Sherwood Village and Sunrise branches are to open their doors Monday. The Glen Elm and Connaught branches are to open Tuesday.
The libraries had been closed due to COVID-19 measures in Saskatchewan.
Capacity will be limited based on the size of the branch, with a maximum of 30 patrons at any one time in the largest branches. Real-time capacity information can be found on the Locations and Hours page of the RPL’s website.
Safety protocols such as masking, hand sanitizing, Plexiglas barriers, revised floor plans and one-way traffic paths will remain in place.
Curbside pickup also will continue at all branches, but customers will once again be able to go inside to browse and borrow materials, gain access to computer stations and the Digital Media Studio at Central Library, rent and return art, pick up musical instruments, and participate in Book Club in a Bag.
The Dunlop Art Gallery is to open with two new exhibitions: My Grandfather’s Pictures by local artist John Peet at the Sherwood Village gallery, and Logan MacDonald’s kawingjemeesh/shake hands at the Central Library gallery.
More services are to be added as provincial health measures allow.
