A 49-year-old Regina man is facing charges of kidnapping and uttering threats after a domestic dispute on Thursday.
In a media release Friday, the Regina Police Service said officers were called at around 2:20 p.m., about a domestic-related weapons offence that had happened earlier in the day at a business in the 200 block of Albert Street North.
Police say a woman reported her ex-intimate partner had showed up at her workplace and got into her vehicle when she was sitting inside.
The woman told police the man threatened her with a knife and told her to drive. When a co-worker came to the woman’s defence, the suspect ran off. The woman wasn’t hurt.
Police said at the time the victim was making her report, the man was in custody on related warrants. He was subsequently charged.
The man’s name wasn’t released since it would identify the victim, whom police said is worried about her safety.
The man made his first court appearance Friday.
