The public in Regina is once again getting a look at which city employees made the most money in the past year.
These are general city employees, police and firefighters, in addition to employees of the Regina Public Library, Economic Development Regina and Regina Exhibition Associated Limited (REAL).
City manager Chris Holden took the top spot. Between his regular salary and a category the city labels as “other,” Holden brought in more than $317,000 in total. That “other” category typically includes severance or vacation pay.
The annual public accounts report is being made available to the city’s executive committee on Wednesday. Salaries and benefits account for the largest expenditure for the city.
The head of REAL — the group that oversees Evraz Place — came after Holden. Tim Reid earned more than $272,000.
Next were the two senior-most roles within the Regina Police Service. Chief Evan Bray made $266,000 while Deputy Chief Dean Rae took in $253,000.
Rounding out the top five was Barry Lacey, the city’s executive director of financial strategy and sustainability. He brought in $242,000.
Twelve others made more than $200,000.
