The heat is on in Saskatchewan.
Warnings that were issued Wednesday morning for most of the province remained in place Thursday.
Environment Canada says a ridge of high pressure over the province will bring daytime highs in the low 30s with low to moderate humidity.
“There will be slight moderation of temperatures for Friday and then near-normal temperatures for the weekend as that ridge of high pressure moves off,” the warning said.
Until then, the weather office is urging people to be cautious when they head outside.
“The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors,” the agency stated.
“Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.”
It recommends drinking plenty of water and seeking shade.
