An arrest has been made in relation to an assault on two children on the Lac La Ronge First Nation.
According to an RCMP media release, the La Ronge General Investigation Section arrested a 13-year-old girl from the La Ronge area on Wednesday.
The arrest is in relation to the investigation into the assault on two children, ages six and eight, that occurred May 29 in a wooded area near the 400 block of Bell’s Point Road.
Investigators do not believe the incident is random in nature.
The 13-year-old, who can’t be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault and was to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on Thursday morning.
The RCMP didn’t provide any further information about the youth as it may potentially identify her.
