A 25-year-old Calgary man has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation in Regina.
Akol Paul Ture was sentenced after an appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Friday. He received 36-month concurrent sentences for possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
A court spokesperson said numerous other charges — some drug-related, some weapon-related — were stayed.
Ture also was handed a 10-year firearm prohibition and was required to provide a DNA sample.
Ture and another man were arrested June 11, 2020 after police executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Lorne Street in the City View area of Regina.
Officers seized approximately 500 grams of fentanyl, $21,000 in cash, multiple cellphones and digital scales.
