The Regina Police Service is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a home invasion that occurred Saturday.
At about 11:40 p.m., officers were sent to an apartment building on Green Poppy Street in southeast Regina. A woman in a ground-floor unit said a man had entered her apartment through a sliding glass door that she had left slightly open.
The woman told police the suspect demanded money and personal items from her. When she tried to call 9-1-1, the man grabbed her phone, disconnecting the call. When the RPS Communications Centre called back, the man ran off and the victim was able to answer the phone.
The victim said the suspect was Black, approximately 19 or 20 years old, and about six feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white Nike hoodie with dark blue “V” pattern on the front and pink writing, along with dark jeans and white shoes.
Police haven’t found any images of the suspect from doorbell cams in the area, so anyone with information is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
