Active cases of COVID-19 continue to fall in Saskatchewan, dropping to 874.
The Ministry of Health reported 106 new cases on Saturday, bringing the total to 47,875 cases.
There were also 135 new recoveries.
One more person has died, belonging to the 80-plus age group from the north west zone. Since the pandemic hit, 555 people in Saskatchewan have died with the virus.
A look at the numbers
The new cases were reported in the following zones: far north west (3), far north east (1), north west (19), north central (17), north east (2), Saskatoon (29), central west (5), central east (3), Regina (10), south west (3), south central (8) and south east (4). They’re still investigating the location for two new cases.
Five cases tested out of province have been added: in the far north east (4), with one more pending resident information.
The seven-day average of new cases is 79, or 6.5 per 100,000 people.
Ninety-six people are in hospital.
Of those, 17 are under intensive care in the north west (1), north central (4), Saskatoon (5), central east (1), Regina (5) and south west (1) areas. The Manitoba patient receiving care in the province returned home on Friday.
There were 2,159 tests processed on June 11.
Vaccination update
Another 18,014 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province, raising the total number of doses given to 878,665.
The new doses were given in: the far north west (277), far north central (31), far north east (409), north west (1,094), north central (1,323), north east (483), Saskatoon (5,063), central west (626), central east (1,544), Regina (3,994), south west (994), south central (1,014) and south east (790). Another 372 doses give are awaiting confirmation of residence.
Seventy-nine per cent of people 40 and older have received their first dose. Of those 30-plus, 73 per cent have received their first dose. Of all adults, 68 per cent have received their first dose.
Out of those 12 and older, 66 per cent have received their first dose. On June 24, every eligible Saskatchewan resident 12 and older will be able to get their second dose, depending on how much time has passed since their initial shot.
