The latest shipment of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine has arrived in Saskatchewan.
After being delayed for several days, the doses got in late Wednesday night, according to Dr. Kathy Lawrence, the vaccine physician lead for Regina.
Saskatchewan received a batch of Moderna this week and those doses have been administered at most clinics in place of Pfizer.
As most people who have been vaccinated would have received Pfizer for their first dose, there now may be some hesitancy with mixing Moderna for second doses.
Lawrence tried to put people at ease.
“It’s sort of like when you go to the drugstore,” she said on Thursday’s Greg Morgan Morning show. “If you have a headache and you’re going to get the Advil and when you get there they only have Motrin or the pharmacy brand, you’re not going home without one because you want your headache to go away. It’s the same sort of thinking with Moderna and Pfizer.”
Aside from a number of pop-up clinics in Regina, Lawrence said the plan is to have the drive-thru clinic at Evraz Place reopen on Friday, carrying through the weekend to Saturday and Sunday.
