8:30 – The Cowessess First Nation and FSIN held a press conference Thursday to announce the discovery of 751 unmarked graves at the site of the former Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. Chief Cadmus Delorme says the community knew there were burials in the area, and the graves may have been marked in the past, but the work is now underway to identify and mark each grave. Chief Delorme joins Gormley to discuss details of the discovery, and share how he – and the community – are feeling following yesterday’s announcement.

12:00 – Good progress is being made on the COVID-19 vaccine under development by the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization (VIDO) at the University of Saskatchewan. The group announced positive interim results from their Phase 1 clinical trial, demonstrating the vaccine is safe and well-tolerated. VIDO is now working to recruit more participants in the clinical trials, with more human studies happening in Halifax and a new clinical trail site to be established in Saskatoon later this summer. VIDO CEO Dr. Volker Gerdts joins Gormley to share the latest update.
