Two people were sent to hospital after a police chase and collision in Moose Jaw Thursday night.
According to a release from the Moose Jaw Police Service, at 12:14 a.m. Thursday, police tried to stop an SUV without a license plate.
The driver fled, leaving city limits. It returned to the city a short while later and was involved in a collision on the 900 and 1000 blocks of Athabasca Street East.
The suspect collided with another vehicle, a power pole, a fence and came to rest in a yard against a tree.
The driver was trapped and needed to be extracted from the SUV. He was arrested and transported to Regina with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.
The driver was allegedly impaired while the incident took place.
An occupant of the other vehicle was also transported to hospital but is expected to survive as well.
The list of charges for the suspect, 27-year-old Zackery Michael Earl Marckoski — who was out on statutory release — are long. They include flight from police, impaired driving causing bodily harm, four counts of possession of a weapon while prohibited, possession of LSE and possession of crystal meth for the purpose of trafficking.
Marckoski has been remanded and will appear in court in the near future.
