A man is facing an array of charges after allegedly firing gunshots near some kids in the Glenelm neighbourhood.
On Saturday night, four kids in the area reported they saw a man in the neighbourhood with a gun and they believed he had shot at them.
At least two other people in the area also reported that they had heard the gunshots.
At around 9:35 p.m. police responded to the 1500 block of Regent Street where they found a man sitting on his front deck.
Police were able to talk the man into walking to the sidewalk where he was arrested without incident.
An Airsoft gun as well as a .22-calibre rifle were recovered at the scene.
A number of “blank” rounds were located near the .22-calibre rifle.
A 57-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon, careless storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
He’s to make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on Aug 18.
