A 13-year-old boy is facing charges after he was arrested for allegedly shooting a 12-year-old with a BB gun.
On Tuesday night at 7:43 p.m. Regina police responded to a call of a 12-year-old getting shot by a BB gun in the 1400 block of Montague Street in the North Central neighbourhood.
The suspect, who was known to the victim, left the area before police arrived on the scene.
The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police ended up executing a search warrant in the 1200 block of Rae Street in relation to this incident.
After an investigation was done, a 13-year-old suspect was arrested and the BB gun was recovered.
The suspect cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He has been charged with discharging an air gun or pistol with the intent to wound and will make his first court appearance in youth court on Aug 17.
