A 40-year-old Regina man is facing nearly a dozen charges after police say a woman was drugged and then sexually assaulted in the city.
According to Regina police, officers responded Friday at about 2:20 a.m., to the General Hospital to pick up a sexual assault kit.
The victim said she had been assaulted sexually by a man armed with a gun who had administered what police said was “an intoxicating substance which temporarily rendered her unable to move during the offence.”
The investigation led to the arrest of a man who’s charged with sexual assault, overcoming resistance by administering or attempting to administer a drug, and eight weapons-related charges. He’s also charged with failing to comply with a condition of release order.
He made his first appearance Monday.
