A police chase that ended with a vehicle crashing into a bus shelter has resulted in charges against a 21-year-old Regina man.
According to police, officers saw the unregistered vehicle of an unlicensed owner driving on Broad Street on Monday at around 1:15 p.m.
Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but it took off and turned east on Broadway Avenue. It ran a red light at Broadway and Winnipeg Street, but it hit another vehicle, a light standard and a bus shelter before coming to a stop.
The driver tried to run away, but was caught by officers and arrested.
The man is charged with two counts of flight from a peace officer, failing to stop after an accident, and resisting arrest.
There weren’t any injuries reported.
