Saskatchewan reported 42 new COVID-19 cases and one new death on Saturday, the day before the province is set to remove all remaining public health restrictions.
The new cases are located in the far northwest (seven), far northeast (nine), northwest (one), north-central (one), northeast (one), Saskatoon (five), Regina (eight), south-central (one) and southeast (six) zones. Three cases are without a hometown.
One case previously without an assigned location was assigned to the far northwest zone.
Saturday’s reported death brings the total up to 572 in the province.
Across Saskatchewan, 414 cases are considered active. Thirty recoveries were added Saturday.
There were 15,623 new vaccinations given for a total of 1,288,868. In Saskatchewan, 549,537 residents are fully vaccinated.
As of Saturday, a total of 61 people are in hospital, including 52 inpatient hospitalizations and nine ICU hospitalizations.
