Sixteen new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths were reported in the province’s COVID-19 update Monday.
A total of 49,450 cases of the virus have been reported in Saskatchewan. There were 2,704 new doses of the COVID-19 vaccine given.
Monday’s new total of 262 active cases is down 20 from Sunday and is the lowest number of active cases in the province since 254 were reported on Oct. 14, 2020.
A look at the numbers
New cases reported Monday were located in Saskatoon (five), far northwest (four), northwest (two), Regina (two), far northeast (one), northeast (one) and southeast (one).
A Saskatchewan resident that tested out-of-province was added to Saskatoon’s total number of cases. One case with pending residence has been assigned to north central.
Saskatchewan has had 48,613 recoveries and lists 262 cases of COVID-19 as active.
In hospital, Saskatchewan has 55 COVID-19 patients, with 46 receiving inpatient care: Saskatoon (18), Regina (13), north central (seven), northwest (five), far northeast (one), south central (one), southeast (one).
There are nine patients in Saskatchewan ICUs: Saskatoon (five), Regina (three) and north central (one).
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 26.
902 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan Sunday, and 944,466 tests have been processed across the province to date.
No new lineage results for variants of concern (VOC), including the Delta variant, were reported Monday. Lineages identified to date include 424 Delta in Saskatchewan.
Vaccination update
A total of 1,350,671 vaccines have been administered in Saskatchewan.
New doses of the vaccines were administered to residents living in Saskatoon (1,131), Regina (939), central east (105), southeast (103), north central (78), southwest (67), northeast (52), northwest (50), south central (48), central west (37), far northwest (six) and far northeast (two). Doses administered with zone of residence pending numbered 86.
Of residents ages 12 and older, 74 per cent have received their first vaccine dose and 59 per cent are fully vaccinated.
