A stolen vehicle spotted by Regina police has led to a long list of charges for one woman.
Members of the Regina Police Service (RPS) stolen auto unit located a stolen vehicle travelling in North Regina Tuesday.
A spike belt was used to try to stop the vehicle, which kept driving until it was eventually abandoned near McCarthy Boulevard and Whelan Drive. A perimeter was then set up by police and a canine track established by the RPS canine unit.
The female driver of the vehicle was found hiding in a yard on Benjamin Crescent and taken into police custody. In a search incident to arrest, officers found drugs on the woman and several pieces of identification that reportedly did not belong to her.
The woman, 27, has been charged with seven different offences, including two counts of possession of a scheduled substance, five counts of possession of an identity document, possession of a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The woman made her first appearance in provincial court Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.
