Dusty Hill, the bassist for legendary rock and roll band ZZ Top, has died.
The group announced Hill’s passing via social media Wednesday.
“We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX,” the statement posted to Facebook said.
“We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C.
“You will be missed greatly, amigo.”
According to Ticketmaster, ZZ Top was scheduled to play Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre on April 22, 2022.

On Friday, the group took to Facebook to tell fans that Hill had to take a “short detour” to address a hip issue. ZZ Top members Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard were awaiting “a speedy recovery.”
The band hasn’t said if Hill’s death was related to the hip issue.
