Tragedy struck on Saskatchewan highways this long weekend.
Two men were killed in separate crashes Friday afternoon.
In a news release, Mounties gave the details of both accidents.
At about 4 p.m., a 40-year-old man was riding his motorcycle on the Highway 1 overpass just west of Regina, when he lost control. He hit the ditch and rolled over.
People driving by got out of their own vehicles and tried to save his life, but he was dead by the time paramedics made it on scene.
The overpass was blocked for several hours while police investigated the scene.
At about the same time, the other accident happened on a grid road near Endeavour, about 120 km north of Yorkton. A 60-year-old man lost control of his vehicle and hit a culvert near the side of the road.
Witnesses driving by saw the vehicle in the ditch with smoke coming out. They pulled the driver out and tried to keep him alive with CPR, but he was declared dead when paramedics showed up.
Police are still looking into the details and causes of both crashes.
