Saskatchewan posted 60 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total active cases in the province to 483.
One new death was reported due to the virus, in the northwest zone — the first death reported in Saskatchewan since July 26.
There were 1,057 new vaccine doses administered as of Wednesday.
A look at the numbers
Saskatchewan now sits at 50,181 cases of COVID-19.
New cases of the virus were reported in the far northwest (14), Saskatoon (13), far northeast (six), southeast (six), north central (five), central east (three), southwest (three), far north central (two), northwest (two), central west (one) and Regina (one).
One Saskatchewan resident tested out-of-province and was added to the south central zone.
There are 56 hospitalizations due to COVID in Saskatchewan, with 44 receiving inpatient care from Saskatoon (20), north central (12), Regina (eight), far northwest (one), northwest (one), south central (one) and southeast (one). Twelve are in intensive care, from Saskatoon (five), Regina (four) and north central (three).
There have been 579 deaths from COVID and 49,119 recoveries in Saskatchewan. The seven-day average of new cases in the province is 50.
Saskatchewan has conducted a total of 966,800 COVID-19 tests, with 1,377 reported Wednesday.
Vaccination update
In the province, 655,852 residents have been fully vaccinated.
Saskatchewan has now seen 1,418,959 shots of the vaccine administered.
