The RCMP is investigating the death of a young man from the Cowessess First Nation.
In a media release Tuesday, the Mounties said officers from the Broadview, Esterhazy and Moosomin detachments responded Saturday at about 11 p.m., to a report of an injured person in a vehicle at a business on the Cowessess First Nation.
A youth under the age of 16 was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The RCMP didn’t provide any more information about his age or identity.
Police have determined the youth was injured at another location and taken to the business at which he was found.
On Tuesday, officers were at a home in Zagime Anishinabek in connection to the incident.
Members of the Yorkton and Regina RCMP General Investigation Services, RCMP Major Crime Unit-North and Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services are investigating.
The Cowessess First Nation is about 155 kilometres east of Regina.
