A second person has been charged in the murder of Jason Bird.
Bird, 33, was found injured in a Princess Street home in Regina by Regina Police Service (RPS) officers on July 15, 2021. He was given first aid and taken to hospital where he later died.
Bird was Regina’s eighth homicide of the year.
The Major Crimes Unit, with assistance by plainclothes and uniformed officers, has now charged a second man in connection with Bird’s death.
The first suspect was arrested on Aug. 4, 2021. The second was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
RPS said the investigation is ongoing.
