A “relatively quiet day” was reported Thursday at the Queen City Ex by Regina police.
Regina Police Service (RPS) officers are assigned to the event to investigate complaints and concerns, respond to emergencies and deter suspicious activity. Concerns, complaints and investigations only required police intervention a handful of times throughout the day.
A minor physical fight involving pushing took place between two women. Police said both parties claimed to be victims in the dispute and no injuries were reported.
Three children were found on the fairgrounds throughout the day. A 12-year-old boy was taken home by officers and two other children who had been separated from their family and friends were taken to the Missing Children’s Centre.
Two sightings of bear spray were also reported at the event. Police and security completed area checks in both cases but located no suspects and no incidents involving bear spray occurred.
On Saturday, bear spray was discharged at the QCX by two teen boys.
Regina police thank the public for their patience and willingness to report concerning activity, as well as QCX staff.
