11:00 – A recent book explores the legacy and influence of Grant Devine’s government. Devine served as premier from 1982 to 1991 with the Progressive Conservative Party, is often seen in a negative light, but co-authors Gerard Lucyshyn, Edward Willett, and Joe Ralko say the Devine government is viewed in a “narrow, scandal-centric narrative pushed by the media and government opposition.” The reality, they write, is that the changes made by Devine and his government led to “an extraordinary increase in private investment, growth and opportunity”. Lucyshyn joins Gormley to tell us more about the book, and the legacy of Devine’s years in power.
