Advance polls for the federal election open Friday across Saskatchewan.
Polls will remain open Friday until Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to a news release from Elections Canada.
Vaccination or proof of vaccination is not required to vote. Poll workers will not be asking for any vaccine-related documentation.
“In Saskatchewan, even though masks are not mandatory, Elections Canada will be abiding by landlord policies on masks,” the release said.
Depending on the voting location, people may be asked to wear a mask, which can be provided by polling workers.
All poll workers, candidates and representatives will be wearing masks at all times at polling locations.
Elections Canada is asking people who prefer not to wear a mask, or those unable to wear a mask for medical reasons, to apply to vote by mail.
The deadline to apply to vote by mail is next Tuesday.
People who refuse to wear a mask where they are required will be refused entry to the polling station.
