A 40-year-old man was found dead in a Moose Jaw Police Service holding cell Thursday morning.
According to the Moose Jaw Police Service, officers had been in conversation with the man minutes before his body was discovered.
Resuscitation efforts were made by police officers and EMS, but the man was pronounced dead.
The Moose Jaw Police Service has asked the Regina Police Service, in accordance with The Police Act, to investigate the death and has requested the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety appoint an investigation observer.
A cause of death was not given and Moose Jaw police say no further information is available as the investigation continues.
