8:30 – Philip Cross has written a piece for the Financial Post asking: “If oil and gas are dead, why are exports booming?” Premier Moe commented on the article saying, “with WTI reaching $80 US a barrel for the first time since 2014 and some predicting $100 a barrel by the end of the year, Saskatchewan is well positioned for a strong economic recovery as we continue to provide the world with some of the most sustainable energy products. ‘Oil is dead.’ I don’t think so.” Cross joins Gormley to discuss the state of oil and gas exports, and what it means for Saskatchewan.

Yesterday the USA announced the end of border restrictions for vaccinated travelers is coming in November, and Hoback joins Gormley to share what we know so far about the announcement and what border issues are left to resolve.

12:00 – Christian Boyle, economic development consultant, joins Gormley to tell us about Kichiota Indigenous Destinations (“kitch-ee-oh-tah” means “special place.”), a made-in-Saskatchewan project formerly called the Indigenous Tourism Corridor. Boyle says Indigenous groups in Saskatchewan are working together to create multi-day tourism experiences for international visitors in order to attract more tourism and “put Saskatchewan on the map.”
